  1. Ah! The great late Tommy Cooper.

  2. Even Tommy Cooper couldn't magic up the 'corporeal appearances' experienced by the late Australian clown above. Why's he laughing so much? Is he on his way to the bank?

  3. Sorry I kind of know I am going to regret this - but who is this a photo of?

  4. John Hales who had just been to the budget section of Specsavers.

You should not regret not knowing this individual who was leader of the Exclusive Brethren following Taylor junior and Symington. I was fortunate to have escaped from the cult towards the end of Taylor's regime and was also fortunate to have heard this man speak only once.
I understand this is a not very flattering photo Of John Hales (JSH), father of the current leader of the Exclusive Brethren Bruce Hales(BDH) who still idolises him. It is also an unusual photograph because he is smiling, not something according to reports he did very often!
It has been suggested by the EB (BDH I understand) that John Hales did not sin after the age of 12 even though there is a letter handwritten by by him, a copy of which is on this site apologising for his failures and wrongful treatment of his brethren.

  7. Thanks Anonymous - I left before his time, just at the beginning of JTJnr's time and one does not see photos of JSH often. Looking at him I feel sick -that grin looks so .... dunno ... sick?

  8. Apparently he was on depressants, combined with alcohol; this might explain the rather manic appearance.

  9. If you cover over his nose and mouth in that picture, his eyes look dead.

  10. Nottachuch - that is what has me spooked I think. Dead eyes but smiling mouth

  11. If you'd covered his nose and mouth, he'd have been dead anyway. Same as giving him Arsenic or Rat Poison.

  12. He will be raised on the day of Christ. Will you?

    1. We live in the hope that he will have to explain to God why he came to a judgement of the commercial system, wrote to Mr Deck apologising for his awful behaviour, only for his son Bruce to resurrect the scandalous notion of bringing business into the house of God, and this time it's worse.

What's that scripture? As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.

1 Thessalonians 4 verse 16 tells us that the dead in Christ shall rise first; after that we (all believers in Christ) who are still alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air.
There will be no special resurrection for John Hales or other members of the Exclusive Brethren. Their spurious separation doctrine will be rendered irrelevant on that great day.
What does concern me though is how many Exclusive Brethren under the age of 60 at present will be caught up to meet the Lord.
Since 1969 it has not been necessary for a person born into the EB to have a confession of faith in Christ before being admitted to their fellowship. Babes in arms participate in the "Lord's Supper" before they are old enough to understand what faith in Christ means. A relative of mine by marriage was excommunicated by the EB and he thought he was saved because he was breaking bread. Sadly he did not know Christ as his Saviour. How many other members of the EB consider they will be raised in the day of Christ simply because they are breaking bread?
When a young person giving out tracts on behalf of the EB was asked if they were going to heaven their reply was "I hope so".
Allowing membership of the EB to be a birthright creates false security in relation to eternal salvation and all leaders of the EB from James Taylor junior onward have responsibility for that.

Were not he and his brethren excluded from the body of Christ through self-inflicted separation and iniquity? And you?
