Brian Mitchell-a PBCC 'Priest' struts his stuff

  1. Blimey! I can also remember being quizzed by the 'priests' about masturbation. I wonder how many other youngsters were. Also recall a split tenner in wedding collection boxes causing some fury.

  2. The Draft Schedules which the Charity Commission has published don't address the matter of how the PBCC has mishandled sexual abuse in their congregations. It's a glaring omission.

  3. Bruce D Hales asked me face to face in a private interview when I was in my 30's if I masturbated before marriage. PERVERT!

  4. My sister-in-law and husband were quizzed by HEB priests about their sexual activities AFTER they were married. Evidently anything other than the missionary position with the express purpose of procreation is unacceptable to the recently rebranded PBCC.

  5. B D Whales told me himself, he had never even 'heard' of masturbation until after he was married, when he was in his 20's - said he didn't even know what it was. Talk about reinventing history to reinforce the myth. On another note, well after I was married, I recall similar unannounced visits by one Anthony Herd (NZ) where he would demand to know the details of marital activities in the sack - you could see the delight in his eyes as he lapped it all up, just like a child listening to his favorite bedtime story. There was never any reply to such disclosures - rather it seemed one of his mandatory lines of questioning in the course of his dubious priestly capacity.

    1. Remember too that Ngaire did not know what fornication was, with the result that she admitted to it when she had not actually done it, and was subsequently made to confess to it publicly. So even ignorance of the names of sexual activities can result in needless emotional trauma, and we know that ignorance of the whole subject can result in much worse emotional and physical harm. I think the current moves in some countries to make sex education mandatory even when opposed by parents will be necessary to protect Brethren children from some of the consequences of ignorance.

    2. When I was asked by an EB 'priest' if I had masturbated I denied it. I thought that was adultary or fornication. I just didn't know what it was. If I had known I probably would have still denied it as I'd have been embarrased. Do mainstream churches ask young people such things?

  6. BDH "had never heard of masturbation" - perhaps he had heard of wanking!
